2012 Medan Trip (Second Day)

Early in the morning we started our day with Medan traditional char kwe tiao (no meat, just fried kwe tiao with eggs), char mee, or char bihun with a cup of coffee.

Then we headed to Brastagi and Simalem. We packed Vegetable mixed rice (Nasi sayur Ahua) from Pasar Beruang for our lunch. It took us about 3 hours to reach Simalem Resort.

Of course, we won't miss the Passion fruit juice and Tamarillo fruit juice. They are definitely "must try".

My brother ordered one interesting dessert for us to try. It's fried mashed cassava with chocolate syrup and shredded cheese. We were all surprised after knowing the price. If I am not mistaken it costs about Rp. 25000 (SGD 3) for a small plate of cassava.

We also bought few meat dumpling from Pasar Beruang for our tea time snack. On the way back to Medan, we stopped by at one shop for Grilled Corn (Jagung Bakar). You won't miss the Jagung Bakar stalls, because they are a lot along the street.

We reached Medan around 8:30 pm. It's pretty late, and everybody was so hungry. We went to Jalan Semarang for our dinner.

From my friends' point of view, Tiong Sim Chicken noodle was the best on the list for our dinner.
